Worth knowing before you buy new
The mixer you have is probably better built than the one in the store
KitchenAid has changed the inside of its newer stand mixers to hold the price down. From what I see on the bench, the result is a machine that is less robust than the older generation, and when a newer one does fail, the parts that go are the expensive ones, so it costs more to repair.
An older KitchenAid that has been cleaned out, re-greased and given a new worm gear is a sturdier machine than a new one at the same price. That is the main reason I say repair it.
Repair it
$100 to $150
Most faults I see, on a tilt-head mixer. On a bowl-lift it is $100 to $175. Cleaned out, re-greased, new gear or gasket where needed, test run, and back in 2 to 3 business days. The mixer you already know, working the way it did new.
Replace it
about $380 to $630
For a new Classic, Artisan or Artisan Plus in Canada; a new bowl-lift is about $400 to $640. Plus a trip to the store, and a mixer that was built to be repaired going in the bin.

Book the $40 diagnostic. I open the mixer, find the actual fault and quote the repair. Most things inside a KitchenAid can be fixed. The usual exception is a burnt-out motor on a newer machine, where the replacement part costs more than the repair is worth, and if that is the case I will tell you before you spend anything more.
How long does it take?
Usually 2 to 3 business days from when I get the mixer. I confirm the date when you book, and if you are working around an event, tell me and I will say honestly whether it can be done in time.
Do you pick the mixer up?
Yes. Pick up and drop off is $20 across Vaughan, Kleinburg and King City, including Woodbridge, Maple, Thornhill and Concord. Anywhere else, you are welcome to drop the mixer off with me in Vaughan by appointment, which is free.
Who am I dealing with?
Me, Alex. MixerFixer is a one-person workshop at my home in Vaughan, just north of Canada's Wonderland. I do every repair myself, and I am the person who answers the phone and hands the mixer back.
How do I pay?
Cash or e-transfer, once the repair is done and you have the mixer back. There is no payment on this website and nothing to pay up front.
